Sales Director for an industrial equipment company £65m turnover
The UK MD of this influential European manufacturer asked High Growth to
recruit a replacement SD following the dismissal of the previous SD for
performance and cultural reasons. It was very important to engage a top class SD
who fitted the culture and ethos of the business and the client chose to use HG
following an excellent experience 12 months earlier when a senior BDM had been
hired.
A high calibre field of candidates was stretched with relevant challenges in a
Selection Day environment and the first choice candidate accepted the job. The
MD praised High Growth for the ‘availability of suitable candidates’ and noted
that the ‘Selection Day makes all the difference’. The SD is still in post 4
years later and has taken on additional responsibilities following a
re-structure and the MD’s departure.
Operations Director (initially Manager) for a fine arts business
£5+m turnover
High Growth was referred to the MD of this London, family-owned and managed
business at a time when the shareholders were considering the introduction of
external professional management. After detailed discussions, we prepared the
job description for the Operations Manager, director designate, and then, with a
really creative advert, attracted a large pool of candidates.
The key
requirements for a competent, credible and culturally aware senior manager with
a record of achieving quality and on time delivery were met by an experienced
Formula 1 Race Engineer who very successfully transferred sectors and raised the
standards to previously unknown levels. Once in post, High Growth’s coaching
support helped him deal with the inevitable new challenges.High Growth was also
retained to engage a Sales Director and, subsequently, a Project Manager.
